PRIMER FESTIVAL DE VIDEOARTE “CAMAGUEY 2008 ”
BASES
PARTICIPANTES:
Podrán presentarse a esta convocatoria artistas de cualquier nacionalidad, sin límite de edad ni sexo.
OBRAS:
1-Cada artista o colectivo podrán presentar una o más obras, teniendo que ser estas originales.
2-Se convoca en las siguientes variantes genéricas:
• Monocanal o Monobanda
• Video performance
• Video instalación (en sus dos variantes, video-escultura y video-environment). (En esta modalidad el autor se hará responsable del traslado y montaje de las mismas).
3-Para las obras instalativas, se adjuntan los planos y vistas de la galería, sede de la UNEAC.
4-La temática será libre, al igual que el tiempo de los trabajos.
5-Las obras se presentarán en soporte de cinta o disco, norma NTSC, en cualquiera de los siguientes formatos: VHS, DVD, VIDEO-CD, (se recomienda el formato de DVD).

Acompañando, por cada obra presentada el FORMULARIO DE INSCRIPCIÓN, debiendo incluir además:
A: Currículo profesional del autor u autores.
B: Breve texto de referencia sobre la idea o el tema de la obra.
C: Foto de las obra(s) en formato digital (JPEG a 300 DPI).
EVENTO TEÓRICO:
-En el marco del festival se desarrollará un evento teórico con los artistas, académicos y críticos invitados al evento.
ADMISIÓN:
1-Sesionara un jurado de admisión designado por el comité organizador, que estará compuesto por relevantes personalidades del arte y la cultura.
2-El evento dispondrá de un numero de capacidades para sufragar los gastos de invitación de los participantes seleccionados, (Pasaje, hospedaje, comida), por ello se reserva el derecho de invitación, los demás seleccionados que deseen participar podrán hacerlo asumiendo sus gastos, en cuyo caso, previo contacto con el comité organizador, se podrá coordinar hospedaje en hoteles y villas de la ciudad. En ambos casos se debe abonar una cuota de participación, de 50 pesos para los participantes nacionales y 50 CUC para el participante extranjero, esta mínima cuota le dará el derecho a:
- A recibir un diploma de participante, acreditación, catálogos y asistencia a conferencias.
- Cóctel de bienvenida, y clausura.
- Un recorrido por el centro histórico con el historiador de la ciudad.
- Participación en las actividades colaterales.
3 -Todas las obras pasarán a formar parte del archivo del evento, siendo utilizadas solo para presentaciones culturales, no comerciales y como parte del festival en su vertiente itinerante.
4-Las obras seleccionadas se darán a conocer a través de los medios y las direcciones de correo de los autores participantes.
FECHA DE ENTREGA: Las obras serán aceptadas hasta el 29 de agosto del 2008.
NOTA:
-Este Festival a desarrollarse anualmente se constituye como una muestra no competitiva en esta primera edición, previendo concertar premios para próximos Festivales, teniendo como objetivo el intercambio cultural y la difusión de esta práctica artística.
-La omisión o falsedad de cualquier dato solicitado supondrá la exclusión del concurso

GUIDELINES
Eligibility
this festival is open to all video art makers around the globe, without age or sex distinctions.
Submission
1. Every artist or group of artists will have the choice to submit one or several works, while all works to be sent are originals.
2. Works to participate will be enclosed in the following genres:
a. mono-channel or mono-band
b. video performance
c. video installation (in both of its variants: the video-sculpture and the video-environment; in such a case, it will be the author’s full responsibility to transport and ensemble the piece)
3. For the installations, the authors could have access to this homepage, where vistas and plans of the gallery spaces are to be found.
4. Art-works will be no topic or time restricted.
5. All works will be presented on disk or tape support, in NTSC, and in any of the following formats: VHS, DVD, VIDEO-CD (DVD is strongly recommended, though)

together with the already filled-out registration form and also:
A author’s or authors´ professional résumés
B a brief description of the idea or topic resulting in the piece
C photos of the art-work or works – in digital format (JPEG 300 DPI)
Space for discussion and debate
Throughout the festival, an international event for discussion and debate will take place with the participation of
all artists, academics and critics invited to the Festival.
Admission of works
1. A jury, designated by the organizing Committee, will be appointed for the admission of the art-works, which will be formed with relevant personalities from the world of arts in the nation.
2. The Festival will accept a determine number of selected artists invited to the event. For such a purpose, a small participation fee may be required, so as to cover accommodation, transport and nourishment expenses. Thus, the Committee representing this Festival will have the right of selecting the participating artists, and will also allow the inclusion and participation of other figures invited to the event only when they assume to pay for their full expenses. Any artist in such a position will need to contact the Organizing Committee, previously, to coordinate all choices possible to be accommodated in hotels or city private lodgings (very comfortable not expensive B&B) any other needs. In both of cases, a participation fee of the equivalent to $50.00 cuc which will allow a participation diploma, registration, catalogues, the attendance to conferences, welcome and farewell cocktails, city tour and the participation in the rest of the activities attached to the development of the festival.
3. All Works, once participating, will be part of the festival records, to be used and exhibited under no commercial interest whatsoever and only for cultural and educational purposes and as part of the itinerant concept the festival provides.
4. The selected works will be announced through the media and the web.
Deadlines
Art-works will be accepted until August 29th 2008 and no further on.
NOTE:
-Festival is to take place yearly and it is constituted as a non-competitive simple in a First Edition, conceiving awards for future editions. The festival will be sustained aiming at the cultural Exchange and the spreading of this particular artistic practice generated from. Any omission or falseness in the personal information requested will presuppose the immediateexclusion from the festival.
